Drying Equipment
We use a range of drying equipment specifically matched to the type of building and the nature of the treatment required. We tailor the method to ensure best drying with least disruption and take into account the special needs of the site.

We have access to a wide variety of equipment including conventional dehumidifiers and air movers, desiccant driers, convectant driers and hydronic driers. The most advanced method is our own Positive Pressure Moisture Displacement System.

By positively pressurising the building with controlled hot or warm moisture-free air, drying times are cut from months to days. Stripping out is only necessary in areas of extreme damage. Mould, bacteria and viruses are eliminated, without using chemicals. The benefits of PPMDS include reduced drying costs, lower reinstatement costs, less business disruption and significant savings on alternative accommodation. This method also eliminates material stress and damage caused by uneven drying.

Other equipment
We use Protimeter MMS devices to scan for moisture. And our thermal imaging cameras give extremely sophisticated information, not just on moisture detection, but also differentiating between water leakage and areas at risk from condensation and mould, identifying building defects and inadequate insulation. BIORIGHT Plus is a hand-held device that scans for contamination, moulds and proteins by detecting the presence of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) which is present in all living organisms.

These and other tools help us in the surveys we undertake before starting any job, and also in the specialist reports we make to establish pre-incident existing problems, causes of damage and extent of responsibility.

How important is heat?
Raising the temperature by just 10° Celsius causes relative humidity to drop dramatically. And there are significant advantages:
  • Heat kills mould even in inaccessible cracks and voids
  • Heat kills bacteria that may be affect health
  • Heat kills the insects that can spread mould in buildings
  • Heat promotes rapid drying of the affected area
  • Heat reduces annoying and irritating odours
  • Heat eliminates the need for toxic chemicals
  • Heat creates no odours
  • Heat does no harm to people or pets

EXAMPLES OF CHOOSING THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT:

Although a speed drying system would deal with the aftermath of a simple radiator leak, it would represent overkill and not be cost-effective.

Dehumidifiers would be totally inadequate for a large unheated factory in winter.
